Dear Harvest Family,
WOW,
what an AWESOME God we serve. I wanted
to touch base with each of you and ask you to remain faithful in prayer as God
continues to show favor. Although we had
a few families out last week, we saw 39 adults and numerous children fill our new
facility. What a blessing it was to walk
into a sanctuary, worship the Lord and then see our children go into areas to
learn more about the Lord in the beautiful facilities which God has provided!
It was exciting to see familiar faces amongst brand new faces and hear how new
attendees are already sharing this work with friends and family.
We have
a lot of things happening. On Tuesday
nights, our ladies will begin their new series by Kay Arthur on the names of
God. All are welcome! Our men’s small group is not so small any
more. We have had 11 men attend a 6AM
study the last two weeks. We are
considering setting up an additional study at an alternate location to
accommodate the growth! In addition to
this, a group of men started a study when they heard about ours and they just
finished their 8th week and completed 7 Promises of a Promise Keeper. Our own Chad Crawford is going to help them
in strengthening their ministry to men as they seek to make disciples of their
community as well. Praise God, He is
already blessing the discipleship and missions work of Harvest Dallas.
Please
pray for our youth and our children as many of them will begin school next
Tuesday and the rest that are not homeschooling begin the following
Monday. Please remember those that are
transitioning to new schools and that they will make new friends quickly.
God
continues to grow our group as we seek His face. He is not only growing our number as people
find out about Harvest Dallas but is providing a wonderful space to meet in and
continue to grow our number and influence.
We also rejoice as God continues to provide financially as our giving
this month has already exceeded previous months. Please pray as we look toward raising our
funds to launch. It will not take an
equal financial commitment of all parties but an equal sacrifice. Some have been willing to leave jobs to come
here, some have given financially although they themselves had needs and others
have taken money from 401K to invest
where “moths do not corrupt” and that will impact lives of multitudes
both local and abroad. So many have made
sacrifices in so many areas and we all know that it pales in comparison to the
sacrifice that Christ made on our behalf.
Please pray about what you can do to help to raise the monies for our
launch fund. It is an inspiriting thing to realize that we can be used to help
establish a church that will plant future churches in Texas and around the
world while making disciples. We are
asking that the Lord will provide $75,000 through his people who are part of
Harvest or friends of Harvest and we will be handing out commitment cards this
Sunday. You can fill it out and return it
privately that day or return them the following Sunday if you prefer. Please begin praying about what you can do to
help us during this launch season of Harvest Dallas.
We also
believe that there is a great need for fellowship. The early church prayed together, worshipped
together and studied the Word together but we also know that they “broke bread
in each other’s homes.” God made us relational
creatures and part of what we believe at Harvest is the importance of doing
life together and building stronger relationships and friendships. With this understood, we will be planning
some times to pray together and we will also be establishing some times to play
together as well. Saturday, August 21
the ladies will be gathering at the Keathly home for a night of
Bunco. More details will be given at our
meeting this Sunday. The men will be
planning a time to enjoy fun and
fellowship together soon. Please watch
for these events and try to make time to spend with each other as we grow in
the midst of community and you will be blessed as you get to know each other
more fully.
Finally,
I want to encourage each of you to pray about a time of seeking the Lord’s face
in prayer. Our third pillar states that we
believe firmly in the power of prayer (Ephesians
6:18). Let me ask each of you to set
up a time to pray. This may be a time on
a specific night at a specific time to pray as a family or some of you may be
called to fast in some way. This may be
a complete fast where you have clear liquids, a Daniel fast where you fast
things like meat, desserts and processed food or something such as fasting TV,
video games or your favorite “soda.” The
goal is to seek God fervently and make our requests known. Please pray about individuals that you can
share the gospel with and share about the opportunity at Harvest. Pray for our coming Open Houses and our
launch campaign and that God will provide generously for our needs according to
His riches. Pray for protection and for
wisdom for leadership and the entire launch team and their families. Pray that the Holy Spirit will impact us and
use us in a mighty way as we desire to make disciples in the area. God has a
great plan for each of us as well as for Harvest Bible Chapel Dallas North as
group. He has led us, directed us and
provided for us. He has provided
leadership, teachers, musicians, worshippers, children, youth, workers, space
and will continue to provide and lead us as we seek His face. I am so blessed to know each of you and work
and minister with you! Thanks for being a part of Harvest Dallas and my life!
You Are Loved!!!!
